I am interested in the evolutionary biology of social insects, related specially with social behavior and biogeography.
My principal goal is to understand the evolutionary mechanisms in social insect groups which migrate from temperate to tropical
zones, having to modify their life cycles and therefore their social behavior.
In particular, I am interested in the evolutionary biology of Bombini and Meliponini, integrating approaches of biogeography
and social behavior. My research has been centered in the biology and ecology of bees, and other social insects including
ants and beetles.
